Dear Peter, by this time (Easter Sunday) you will probably have already heard of the tragic dreath of our dearly belove Vicar at St. Michael's - Father Andrew Starky - who had a massive heart attack while jogging an Holy Saturday - before the Easter Vigll - for which Andrew had prepared so lovingly.

I remember that, on Good Friday, After the singing of the Passion Gospel, and traditionl Veneration of the Cross before Ante-Communion, Andrew had prayfully recited the Anima Christe: begining with the words: "Soul of Christ sanctify me", leading up to: "In the hour of my death call and bid me come to Thee, that with thy Saints I may praise Thee through all eternity. Amen". I believe Fr. Andrew was prepared to meet his Maker the next day.

Today's Masses and this evening's Evensong and Benediction were part of the essential process of our parish mourning; grieving and yet quietly rejoicing that Andrew's future is assured - by virtue of hisBaptism into Chrtist, and his practice of the Presence of Christ in the exercise of his earthy priesthood - at the Mass and in ther Sacraments of the Church, which he so lovingly administered. Rest Eternal grant to him, O lord. Let light prerpetual shine upon him. May he rest in peace and rise with Christ one day in glory. Amen.

Please join in our prayers for Dear Kathryn and their son, Daniel and extended family.

Christ is Risen, Alleluia! He is Risen indeed, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Dear Ron,
I have heard and not being in Chch at moment am able only to pray.
Andrew was a good man, priest, husband, father, friend to me and to many.
Above all Andrew was a deeply Christian man who was journeying ever deeper into Christ and Christ's call on his life.
